The bachata is a music of popular guitar of the Dominican Republic, nowadays of overwhelming way has gained height between the Latins that lives in the United States. The bachata took form throughout a period from at least forty years in the bars and brothels of Santo Domingo, without gaining acceptance in its native earth until at least ten years ago. Young groups as Adventure has an almost direct relation with the original bachata, similar to the relation of the rock and rolleros with the blues.

In fact, parallelism between the bachata and the blues are marked. Although the bachata had a unique development, the bachateros have touched a great variety of different rates, podria to be mentioned among them the meringue. The music that is known as bachata is a variant of bolero. In the Latin culture bolero has been traditionally a romantic music, that was related to subjects like the deception and the lost love. The bachatero, like the blues singer, sings on the pain and the problem; a difference nevertheless is that while the blues singer approaches a train towards the south and maintains in movement, the bachatero goes away to the nearest bar and looks for consolation in a bottle of rum in a dark corner.
The sort crossed by several phases since Jose Manuel Calderón recorded what he is clear generally like first the simple one of bachata (“Drunk of love” and “Which he will be of my (Sentence)”) in 1961. In fact, long before Calderón, the guitar music was the music of election in the places of bad fame that got to be the home of the bachata.
